MURPHY
This abandoned store, probably once a plantation commissary, is in a scene from the movie Crossroads in which Eugene Martone (Ralph Macchio) and Willie Brown (Joe Seneca) take refuge from a storm and meet the runaway girl, Francis (Jamie Gertz).
The three photos, above, at right and below are of the Torrey Wood & Son Gin, one of the last wood-framed cotton gins left standing in the delta. This gin is directly to the rear of the store behind the trees in the photos at the top of the page.
This photo was taken about 2005.
